The Travel Money Journal Fall/Winter 2018
After another successful Travel Money Forum hosted in London, we are delighted to present to you our biannual publication, the Travel Money Journal. This edition’s feature article focuses on how retailers can use data to create a more profitable bureau network in the tough market of rising costs and a volatile GBP/EUR exchange rate.
We then emphasize the importance of travel money retailers to plan their operations based on events that are occurring around the world. We examine England’s successful World Cup campaign and how it affected cash demand for both the host country and others. We conclude that retailers should use the lessons from the World Cup to plan effectively for future major events.
Finally, we examine the rapid growth of fintech startups and their threat to travel money retailers. We suggest that digital banks will become a legitimate player in the travel money market for the next generation.
